Position Overview:
The American Hotel & Lodging Association is in search of a Regional Events Manager.

This role will report to the Senior Director of Event Partnerships and will play a crucial part in the planning and execution of all AHLA Regional events as well as external meetings and gatherings.


Key Responsibilities:
Management of the AHLA Regional Event Series

Oversee meeting logistics, including function specifications, catering, audio-visual arrangements, and experiential elements

Coordinate and execute all webinars and the backend of virtual programs; collaborate closely with the department coordinator to manage the AHLA calendar

Partner with the State and Local Government Affairs team to extend invitations to elected officials and other internal and external stakeholders for speaker engagements

Manage registration and relationship management for AHLA partnership events; provide necessary support for events and attendees requiring a higher level of personal engagement

Act as the marketing liaison by drafting content and coordinating event marketing materials; assist the department coordinator with relevant pages on the AHLA website

Support event social media initiatives in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications department.

Prepare RFPs, conduct site research, and manage contracting for events and meetings as assigned

Handle housing and overflow arrangements, rooming lists, and monitor hotel pickup reports as needed

Assist with association committees as assigned

Engage in other special projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Skills and Attributes:
Proficient in computer and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with Salesforce is preferred

Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to craft and edit clear, engaging, and relevant content; openness to feedback

Self-driven individual who is also a collaborative team player with a high degree of professionalism and emotional intelligence

Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and time management capabilities

Customer-service oriented with a positive demeanor; maintains composure under pressure

Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree

Three to five years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Additional Information:
Position located in Washington, DC

Work Schedule:
Rotating hybrid work schedule: In-office Tuesday through Thursday and Monday through Thursday every other week

Willingness to travel up to 50%

Ability to lift 35 pounds

Compensation:
Salary range: $70,000-$75,000
