Job Description

Genetec is a leading technology company with a broad solutions portfolio that encompasses security, intelligence, and operations. We are seeking a Senior Manager, North America Events to join our regional marketing team. Reporting to the Director, North America Marketing, you will lead a team of event and meeting professionals who plan and execute conferences, trade shows, user groups, and a Genetec Experience Center in the region. Your focus will be to showcase the Genetec brand throughout North America (USA & Canada) and drive qualified leads through to our sales organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, support, and mentorship to the North American events team, fostering a cohesive and collaborative team environment
  • Implement best practices to maximize team and event program efficiency
  • Oversee the North American trade show and conference program, including the implementation of the Genetec brand strategy in the region
  • Efficiently produce a high-impact, large-scale program comprising various formats and properties
  • Leverage global best practices, tools, and formats for region-specific initiatives
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the North American Regional Event Team and Corporate Event Team based at Genetec HQ in Montreal, Quebec
  • Closely plan, manage, and track a significant-sized budget and portfolio of partner agencies and vendors
  • Ensure strong cross-function collaboration with regional sales and marketing counterparts, the corporate event, technical marketing, and product teams, technology partners, and other business stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with booth contractors, suppliers, agencies, and vendors
  • Ensure each event includes a comprehensive leads management strategy and execute related operational procedures to ensure ROI
  • Conference destination and venue sourcing (for both external and internal events), site visits, local vendor selection, and contract negotiations
  • Oversee planning and execution of large internal team summits
  • Ensure that the North American events presence supports the overall regional marketing strategy and goals, and adheres to corporate brand guidelines
  • Responsible for the regional Experience Center program and staff, including facilities, office management, meeting, and event coordination
  • Frequent on-site event support and associated travel, including one full week per month on site at the Genetec DCXC in Arlington, VA, will be required
Requirements
  • 10+ years of marketing and events management experience
  • 8+ years of team leadership/management and team building experience in a high-growth business environment; experience leading remote teams
  • Experience showcasing high-tech solutions in a tradeshow and conference environment
  • Background with budget management and tracking – both the art and science of this practice are essential
  • Knowledgeable on implementation of brand guidelines into regional event properties and conferences, with consideration for unique elements of the local region
  • Communication skills: comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and agencies/contractors
  • Naturally collaborative and enjoys working with varied teams in a matrixed organization
  • Calm and confident demeanor
  • Strong judgment: ability to navigate business complexity and determine the best course of action
  • Extremely well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing a multi-faceted portfolio of events
  • True passion for events, marketing, branding, and lead generation. You enjoy creating in-person marketing programs that drive measurable business results in a high-tech industry
  • Familiar with demonstration facilities and/or program management in an Experience Center environment
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and CRM
  • Familiar with event management technology such as registration portals and lead capture
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or similar
  • You are a road warrior. This position requires a significant travel commitment; candidate must be able to travel internationally
