Position Summary:

The Facility Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring a high-quality experience for program participants and members, guided by the core values of the YMCA: Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring. The manager will lead initiatives for growth, expansion, and effective scheduling at the Maui Family YMCA Resource Center. This includes planning, developing, organizing, and evaluating programs and classes to meet the diverse needs of members and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Facility Operations Manager:

  • Ensure the safety and upkeep of the facility, grounds, and equipment.
  • Oversee custodial functions to maintain cleanliness and adherence to company policies.
  • Implement safety protocols and emergency preparedness procedures.
  • Manage budgets, including project budgets and timelines.
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts with service providers and third-party leases.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular facility inspections and document findings.
  • Manage insurance and contracts effectively.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance as necessary.
  • Oversee refurbishments, renovations, and office relocations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of payments and manage office systems.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage effectively.
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Management experience is a plus.
  • Physical capability to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

As the Program Coordinator:

  • Responsible for the growth and supervision of programs and classes.
  • Develop and execute a variety of programs and activities.
  • Foster a positive culture that promotes teamwork and respect.
  • Encourage community engagement through relationship building.
  • Ensure outreach programs align with our mission.
  • Conduct annual staff reviews in a timely manner.
  • Maintain budgets and resources efficiently.
  • Schedule and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Communicate upcoming events to staff and members.
  • Assist in fundraising and campaign events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • YMCA Organizational Leader certification is a plus.
  • Two or more years of supervisory/management experience in a non-profit setting preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are beneficial.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
