Key Responsibilities

As a Facility Maintenance Specialist, you will utilize your technical expertise and collaborate with a diverse team of dedicated professionals. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Operating machinery and equipment for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
  • Assessing assigned tasks and ensuring the availability of appropriate materials and tools.
  • Supervising and evaluating the work of maintenance staff, providing necessary technical guidance.
  • Performing carpentry tasks to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, flooring, and roofing.
  • Conducting plumbing, heating, and air conditioning repairs, including work on furnaces, ductwork, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Executing electrical repairs, such as replacing fixtures and control switches.
  • Carrying out minor construction projects, including building storage solutions and workstations.
  • Completing mechanical maintenance on facility machinery, motors, and vehicles.
  • Assisting in maintaining the security of assigned individuals.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of general maintenance or related construction experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of equipment necessary for effective repairs.
  • Ability to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and electrical tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff, especially in emergencies.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently: Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 lbs or more; bend, stoop, work with machinery, climb, walk, stand, and work in extreme temperatures.

Occasionally: Reach above shoulder level, drive automatic vehicles, and sit.
