Position Overview:

Summary:

The Senior ETAR Risk Specialist is responsible for conducting advanced modeling, development, research, and analytical tasks to ensure the application of suitable modeling techniques and assumptions within the organization's trading and risk management systems. This role is crucial for accurately capturing the firm's market and counterparty credit risk while maintaining compliance with model risk management and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive model documentation and continuously enhance existing models, ensuring effective communication with traders, risk management partners, senior leadership, and regulatory bodies.
  • Analyze and clarify fluctuations in Value at Risk (VaR), DV01, Potential Future Exposure (PFE), and other risk metrics resulting from market and model/position adjustments to confirm expected outcomes.
  • Collaborate with model validation teams, audit departments, and Segment Risk Officers to address their inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Engage closely with the capital market risk production team to facilitate ongoing model performance monitoring and outcome evaluations.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
This position is hybrid and requires proximity to a Huntington Bank Corporate Office.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in risk analytics and/or quantitative modeling.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Experience in direct market and/or counterparty risk modeling.
  • Possession of CFA or FRM certification.
  • Familiarity with the US regulatory framework for market risk management.
  • Experience within a regulated financial institution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex market risk topics to diverse stakeholders.
