Position Overview:

The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance team, ensuring that all operations are conducted efficiently and effectively. This role involves:

  • Team Supervision: Lead maintenance staff by organizing and prioritizing tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring quality control of all work performed.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the parts clerk to manage inventory procurement and distribution, while supervising the utilization of tools and supplies.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and comply with OSHA and EPA regulations. Conduct regular safety training and participate in facility inspections.
  • Administrative Support: Assist the Director of Maintenance with various administrative responsibilities, including personnel management, discipline, and scheduling.
  • Project Planning: Engage in the planning of future maintenance projects and assess financial requirements, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
  • Emergency Response: Act swiftly in emergency situations, directing responses to road calls and industrial incidents.
  • Availability: Be on-call for emergency situations during weekends and evenings.
General Responsibilities:
  • Complete all tasks with professionalism, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Attendance: Regular and dependable attendance is essential for fulfilling job responsibilities.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a two-year program in diesel mechanics or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years' supervisory experience in a vehicle maintenance environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine repair and compliance with OASH and EPA standards.
  • Basic proficiency in PC usage.
  • Strong administrative and leadership skills.
  • Possession of a CDL with passenger endorsement.
  • Successful completion of drug and/or alcohol testing.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to utilize full ranges of hearing, speech, and vision.
  • Manual dexterity for handling paperwork.
  • Capability to stoop, crouch, or kneel during inspections.
  • Ability to bend at the knee, hip, and waist while performing duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to waist level and carry 35 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to write clear and legible reports.
  • Capacity to move throughout the office and utilize standard office equipment effectively.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
