Position Summary:

The Electronics Components Specialist will oversee component management for electronic projects tailored for the aerospace and defense sectors. This role necessitates a comprehensive understanding of component applications within both analog and digital circuits, as well as power electronics, high-speed digital interfaces, FPGA, and DSP technologies. Additionally, the candidate must be knowledgeable about the effects of thermal, vibration, radiation, and electromagnetic stress on these components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in electrical and electronic design tasks, focusing on component selection based on performance, materials, construction, availability, and cost.
  • Conduct Obsolescence Management activities, providing informed recommendations for alternative components to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with component manufacturers to verify OEM part numbers, assess qualified manufacturers, and ensure part availability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive electronic component databases for Kearfott.
  • Analyze component manufacturer data sheets critically to determine their suitability for Kearfott applications.
  • Perform reliability assessments and application stress evaluations using tools such as ANSYS and Matlab.
  • Adhere to relevant internal, industry, and government standards.
  • Support initiatives aimed at product improvement and cost reduction.
  • Utilize design and analysis software including Altium, OrCad, HyperLynx, Pspice, and LTSpice.
  • Create requirements, specifications, and validation procedures for electronic assemblies.
  • Participate actively in cross-functional project teams, collaborating with mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians.
  • Support production, manufacturing, repair, and product enhancement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in file management systems such as SVN and Sharepoint.
  • Experienced in formal document release and revision control processes.
  • Strong presentation skills for design reviews and marketing presentations.
  • Effective communication abilities across various engineering disciplines.
  • Proven leadership skills in a collaborative team environment.
  • Open to constructive feedback for personal and project development.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a results-driven approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in aerospace and/or defense engineering is required; 5+ years preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software.
  • Experience in new product development is advantageous.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident Card Holder.
