Role Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing manufacturing operations across diverse components and systems. This position requires a blend of scientific and engineering expertise to drive workflow enhancements, process optimization, and the refinement of documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess manufacturing capabilities across different product lines.
  • Identify and implement solutions to address inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
  • Develop and revise work instructions and operational documentation for component and subsystem manufacturing.
  • Educate technicians and engineers on established manufacturing protocols.
  • Establish key performance indicators for manufacturing processes and monitor progress towards these goals.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues.
  • Utilize technical knowledge in areas such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering to support existing optical gyroscope-based inertial measurement units (IMUs).
  • Engage in hands-on activities to construct new optical, mechanical, and electrical workstations for the production and testing of inertial navigation systems.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to procure necessary components and subassemblies for current and future products.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to management on the aforementioned activities.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Detail-oriented with a proven track record in process development and enhancement.
  • Hands-on experience in relevant fields such as lasers, optical metrology, or electronics assembly is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ERP systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with design and computational software is advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or process engineering, or a master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 certified manufacturing practices is a plus.
  • Experience in cleanroom environments (ISO Class 4 through Class 7) is desirable.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is required.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the US.
