About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to patients and their families
  • Coordinate patient admissions, verify and update necessary information, and complete surgical/procedure consents
  • Work directly with post-anesthesia care areas to direct patients and guests to the patient bedside
  • Coordinate with patient guests/family or ride services to ensure timely transportation from the Surgery Center
  • Manage multiple duties simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, screen calls, and provide routing information to patients
  • Distribute and communicate messages/pertinent information to staff in a timely manner
  • Act as a resource to staff, patients, and families, and maintain a positive and professional attitude
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work part-time, 2 10-hour shifts per week, under operating hours of Monday-Friday 6am-6pm, with potential for occasional Saturday shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of work experience as a Receptionist in a medical setting
  • Experience working within the healthcare industry and with healthcare insurance
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office, or medical clinic setting
