Research Faculty Position: Data Analytics Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Research Professor to join our team at the Social Science Research Institute at Penn State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading data analytics efforts and overseeing the management of sensitive data assets for research projects and publications.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead data cleaning, quality issue resolution, and data transformation to create usable datasets for cross-sectional and longitudinal analysis.
- Conduct and improve probabilistic data linkages across government systems, including child welfare, criminal justice, and Medicaid.
- Develop and maintain expertise in statistical programming languages, including Stata, SAS, and Python.
- Familiarity with database management and warehousing solutions, such as SQL, AWS, and Snowflake, is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with faculty researchers and stakeholders.
- A commitment to data privacy and security is mandatory.
- A terminal degree in the Social Sciences (PhD) or Data Sciences (MS) is required.
- Applicants with a terminal master's degree in Data Sciences should have at least three years of applied experience with administrative data.
This is a one-year, term position working on multi-year projects with an excellent likelihood of renewal based on performance. The successful candidate will be part of an innovative team from the SSRI's Child Maltreatment Solutions Network and the Translational Center for Child Maltreatment Studies, supported through a Capstone Center grant from NICHD.
