About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Clinical Supervisor to join our team at Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC). As a key member of our community outreach team, you will play a vital role in providing clinical supervision and support to our mental health professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Support Mental Health Professionals: Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to our mental health professionals, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver effective services.
  • Community Outreach and Engagement: Develop and implement community outreach and engagement strategies to promote our services and build relationships with key stakeholders, including other service providers, community organizations, and government agencies.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Collaborate with our program managers to develop and implement new programs and services, ensuring they meet the needs of our clients and align with our organizational goals.
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the quality of our services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to ensure we are delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • Staff Development and Training: Provide training and development opportunities for our staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for a Licensed AAC Credential: Must be eligible for a Licensed AAC credential or any other superseding credential that meets RCW requirements to act as a Mental Health Professional whose scope of practice includes independently conducting mental health assessments and making mental health diagnoses.
  • Master's Degree in a Relevant Field: Must have a Master's degree in a social work, psychology, or other relevant behavioral science or Bachelor of Nursing degree with specialty in mental health.
  • Experience in Community-Based Behavioral Health Services: Must have one or more years' experience in community-based behavioral health services.
  • Strong Collaboration and Problem-Solving Skills: Must have strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff from various backgrounds.
  • Interest in Working with Clients with Complex Needs: Must have an interest in working with clients who have complex needs, including homelessness, mental illness, and substance use disorders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC): Must be a Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Washington or actively pursuing one of these credentials.
  • Supervisory Experience: Must have supervisory experience, with a proven track record of providing effective clinical supervision and support to mental health professionals.
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish: Must be bi-lingual English/Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff who speak Spanish as their primary language.
