Job Summary

Marine Spill Response Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Oil Spill Response Technician to join our team. As a key member of our response team, you will be responsible for operating and supporting all phases of oil spill response equipment, performing routine and preventative maintenance, and participating in deployment, retrieval, cleaning, and storage of oil boom and sorbent materials.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in oil spill clean-up activities, including deployment, retrieval, cleaning, and storage of oil boom and sorbent materials.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and inspections on response equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Operate small boats, including navigation and radar equipment, to support oil spill response efforts.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports properly and timely, adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulations supporting a safe work environment.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, performing other duties as assigned, and reporting to assigned worksite locations within a 2-hour recall notice.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Successful background check, drug screen, and pre-hire medical exam.
  • Possess or ability to obtain a TWIC card and Passport, and complete the 40 Hour HAZWOPER training (provided upon hire).
  • Ability to travel as needed, including oil spill/drill responses.
