At Duncaster Inc, recognized for excellence in senior living, we are seeking a dedicated Residential Cleaning Specialist to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our residents, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in their daily lives.

Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for the thorough cleaning of resident accommodations and communal areas. Duties include collecting waste, sanitizing common spaces, and ensuring that all assigned areas meet our high standards of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established cleaning protocols.
  • Sanitize resident living spaces and communal facilities.
  • Execute cleaning tasks following resident discharges, including specialized procedures for isolation cases.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure proper storage after use.
  • Utilize cleaning supplies responsibly and efficiently.
  • Document special tasks and communicate any additional support needs to the supervisor.
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist nursing staff during emergency drills and situations.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions.
  • Report any unique housekeeping requests or concerns regarding resident well-being to the supervisor.
  • Foster effective communication with residents and team members.
  • Uphold infection control standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment usage in a medical environment.
  • Basic knowledge of housekeeping machinery and tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize tasks effectively and complete them within designated timeframes.
  • Good hygiene practices and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to follow directions, adhere to schedules, and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical capability to maneuver cleaning equipment and assist with light furniture movement.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday.
