Job Overview

This role is part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team dedicated to delivering services that align with the mission of Viability, focusing on best practices in Assistive Technology and Virtual Reality.

Position: Program Assistive Technology Specialist 3

Location: Remote

Hours: Full-time; Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Compensation: $28 per hour

Incentive: $500 sign-on bonus (distributed as $250 after the first week of training and $250 after 90 days of successful employment)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments to identify appropriate technology supports tailored to individual needs, preferences, and environmental contexts.
  • Collaborate with various programs including In Home Supports, Day, Employment, and Residential services to deliver comprehensive Assistive Technology solutions.
  • Stay informed about advancements in Assistive Technology to enhance decision-making processes.
  • Innovate and adapt assistive technology tools and programs to meet diverse user needs.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize technology solutions across the Assistive Technology spectrum.
  • Utilize knowledge of smart home technologies, remote support, and augmentative communication tools.
  • Virtual Reality Responsibilities:
    1. Gain proficiency in all VR software applications.
    2. Assist in training program staff on the effective use of VR equipment with participants.
    3. Keep abreast of emerging technology trends.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an associate degree with two years of related experience.
  • Must obtain a RESNA ATP Certification or an equivalent Assistive Technology Certification within six months of employment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse age groups and cultures, along with excellent technical writing, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for job-related purposes.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
