Position: Program Assistive Technology Specialist 3

Location: Remote

Work Schedule: Full-time; Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Compensation: $28 per hour

Incentive: $500 sign-on bonus (distributed as $250 after the first week of training and $250 upon successful completion of the first 90 days)

Role Summary:

  • As an Assistive Technology Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to deliver AT services that identify technological supports tailored to individual needs, preferences, and environmental contexts. You will collaborate with various Viability programs, including In Home Supports, Day Services, Employment, and Residential programs, to provide comprehensive AT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on applications relevant to your area of expertise to enhance the AT decision-making process.
  • Demonstrate creativity in adapting and modifying assistive technology tools and programs.
  • Manage, utilize, and troubleshoot technology solutions across the AT spectrum.
  • Maintain awareness of and readiness to use smart home technologies, remote support systems, and augmentative communication technologies.
  • Virtual Reality Duties:
    1. Gain a thorough understanding of all VR software applications.
    2. Collaborate with assigned VR program staff to train other team members on equipment usage, including hardware, software, and troubleshooting techniques.
    3. Stay informed about current technology trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; or an associate degree with two years of experience in a related area.
  • Must obtain a RESNA ATP Certification or an equivalent Assistive Technology Certification within the first six months of employment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse age groups and cultures, along with strong technical writing, time management, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for job-related purposes.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
