We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Services Coordinator to join our team at The Salvation Army Eastern Territory. In this role, you will be responsible for providing social services to individuals in need, including intake interviews, food pantry program, and other special assistance programs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct intake interviews with clients to determine their needs and develop a plan to address those needs.
- Manage the food pantry program, including interviewing clients, keeping records, and making reports to supporting agencies.
- Administer the Good Neighbor Fund, Veolia Water Company, and other special assistance programs, including intake, application review, and distribution of resources.
- Plan and implement regular annual special assistance programs, including scheduling events, securing volunteers and resources, and providing guidance and intake for local clients.
- Represent The Salvation Army at local networking opportunities and maintain relationships with community partners.
- Oversee community service workers and provide necessary reports and letters confirming their hours worked.
- Manage front office volunteers and senior workers, and answer all phone calls.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.
- 2 years' experience in a related field.
- Commitment to assisting those in need and understanding of The Salvation Army's mission.
- Well-organized and able to prioritize tasks.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
