Position Summary:

We are in search of a meticulous and committed Solar Installation Site Evaluator to become a vital part of our renewable energy division. The Solar Installation Site Evaluator will be instrumental in the preliminary evaluation and strategizing of solar energy projects. This role demands robust technical expertise, a thorough understanding of solar energy systems, and the capability to collect accurate data to guarantee the effective execution of solar initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Site Evaluation: Perform on-site assessments at potential solar project locations to determine the viability of solar installations. Analyze elements such as solar exposure, shading, roof condition, and structural soundness.
  • Data Acquisition: Precisely measure and document site-specific details, including roof dimensions, shading analysis, and electrical configurations. Utilize specialized tools and software for data collection.
  • Design Collaboration: Work alongside design and engineering teams to supply critical information for the formulation of solar system designs, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
  • Shading Assessment: Conduct shading evaluations to identify possible obstructions that could affect solar energy production. Employ software tools to generate shading diagrams and enhance system efficiency.
  • Structural Evaluation: Examine the condition of roofs and structures to ascertain their suitability for solar panel installation, identifying any required repairs or reinforcements.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive site survey reports and documentation that encompass all pertinent data, images, and site-specific considerations. Ensure reports are precise, well-organized, and accessible to project stakeholders.
  • Safety Adherence: Comply with safety protocols and regulations during site surveys. Ensure all tasks are executed safely and report any safety issues or incidents.
  • Client Communication: Interact with clients and project managers to provide updates on site survey progress, findings, and any necessary modifications to project plans.
  • Ongoing Education: Remain informed about industry best practices, technological advancements, and relevant regulations in solar energy to enhance surveying techniques and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in solar site surveying, construction, or a related technical field is highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems and photovoltaic technology.
  • Proficient in utilizing surveying instruments, including GPS devices, digital cameras, and shading analysis software.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations pertaining to solar installations is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation for travel to project sites.
