Position Overview:

The role is integral to the Construction Services Department, focusing on the assessment and management of stormwater practices at construction sites. The specialist will conduct regular evaluations of ongoing projects to ensure adherence to environmental regulations. Responsibilities include the installation and upkeep of sediment and erosion control measures, as well as assisting in the formulation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) tailored to various construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field inspections of construction and industrial sites to ensure compliance with stormwater regulations.
  • Review construction schedules and plans to identify necessary stormwater management practices.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and removal of sediment and erosion controls.
  • Operate company vehicles and field equipment as required.
  • Document inspections and maintain detailed records of compliance and violations.
  • Provide guidance to contractors and property owners regarding stormwater regulations and best practices.
  • Support senior staff in project administration and communication of relevant information.
  • Participate in training sessions for contractors and project teams on environmental compliance.
  • Engage in community development activities and professional development opportunities.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a smoke-free environment and requires adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment. The role includes a mix of office duties and fieldwork, with occasional travel for project assignments.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma is required, with a preference for candidates holding an associate degree or higher. Experience in a related construction field is essential, along with hands-on skills in operating power tools and equipment. Familiarity with construction plans and regulations is advantageous.
