At Rutland Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psihchiatric Care Specialist to join our Emergency Department team.

This critical role is part of our interdisciplinary team that provides patient care through direct monitoring, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies to ensure a safe and secure environment. Our team works collaboratively to maintain a high level of patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct patient care under the supervision of professional clinical staff
  • Assess and identify patient risks, applying de-escalation and restraint techniques as needed
  • Engage in general department functions to support overall Emergency Department operations

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or human services field preferred
  • Prior experience in healthcare, mental health, security, or public services a plus

Certifications and Licenses:

  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire
  • Completion of patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification required

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Ability to utilize multiple internal and external communication modalities
  • Excellent interpersonal and observation skills
  • Able to remain calm and think effectively in high-stress situations

Pay Range: $17.29 - $25.66
