Psychiatric Care Specialist

At Rutland Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Associate - Psychiatric Unit to join our Inpatient Psychiatric Services team.
Job Summary
Under the supervision of our experienced providers and leadership, you will be responsible for assisting in the treatment and care of psychiatric patients in accordance with our established methods and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in providing patient care under the direct supervision of our RNs and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Report patient care observations and deviations from patient care plans to our nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Health or mental health care experience preferred.
- Certificate in mental health technology or related field, such as licensed nursing assistant preferred.
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
- Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and observation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and think and act effectively in high stress situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
