Christ Health Center is on the lookout for a dedicated Enrollment Specialist who is passionate about our mission and committed to enhancing the lives of the patients and communities we serve. The Enrollment Specialist will play a crucial role in facilitating the enrollment of eligible patients and residents into affordable health insurance options through various programs such as the Health Care Marketplaces, Medicaid, and All-Kids insurance.

Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Chief Culture Officer, the Enrollment Specialist will:
  • Identify and collaborate with local organizations to coordinate enrollment initiatives, maximizing outreach to eligible individuals.
  • Review daily schedules to pinpoint patients who may qualify for health insurance.
  • Communicate effectively with Front Office staff to assist patients in navigating insurance enrollment and accessing community resources.
  • Guide and support existing patients and local residents in understanding the Health Care Marketplace and enrolling in suitable health insurance plans, Medicaid, or All-Kids programs as applicable.
  • Engage with the Alabama Primary Care Association to obtain necessary materials and guidance on state and federal training requirements, ensuring compliance with all training and credentialing standards.
  • Meet with local neighborhood associations and community organizations to disseminate information about available insurance options and resources for eligible residents.
  • Participate in in-service education for staff, quality assurance programs, and risk management initiatives.
  • Contribute to the overall quality of patient care as part of the patient care team and daily huddles when required by the Core Care Team.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to organize, track, and report data using Microsoft Excel, along with excellent general computer skills.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Predominantly sedentary work requiring sitting for approximately 90% of the time.
  • Capability to stoop, bend, reach, and use manual dexterity for communication and document verification.
  • Proficient in using a keyboard and visualizing a computer monitor for data entry and processing.
  • Compliance with OSHA and airborne personal exposure risk categories, adhering to universal precautions at all times.
Language Proficiency

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence and reports; capacity to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Mathematical Proficiency

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; capability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to apply general rules to specific situations to derive logical conclusions; skill in synthesizing information to form general rules or conclusions and effectively communicating this information to others.
