Position Overview:
The role of a Care Coordinator at Gastro Health is essential in ensuring seamless patient care and efficient communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all administrative functions related to the physician/provider.
- Act as the primary contact for coordinating patient medical care.
- Enhance patient satisfaction by streamlining communication between patients and physicians.
- Provide patients with relevant medical literature and preparation instructions.
- Address patient inquiries regarding procedures and care.
- Schedule procedures, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments efficiently.
- Ensure all necessary authorizations for tests and procedures are obtained.
- Confirm scheduled procedures with patients in advance.
- Facilitate patient check-out and provide clear next steps.
- Handle medical record requests from various healthcare facilities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient calls.
- Process new prescriptions and refills, ensuring necessary authorizations are secured.
- Obtain and communicate lab results to patients in a timely manner.
- Complete tasks within the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Review open orders regularly and act accordingly.
- Send required forms to outpatient facilities as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical assistant is necessary.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish) are preferred.
