About the Role

Xylem, a leading global water technology company, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying products and accessories for Flygt products and retrofit business development.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design and develop mechanical components, layouts, and detail drafting work using AutoCAD and ProEngineer Creo Elements/Pro5.0 or later software.
  • Work closely with Engineering and other departments to analyze projects for manufacturability and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement design solutions that meet customer needs and company goals.
  • Conduct stress analysis, evaluate material selection, and prepare sketches and conceptual drawings for prototype equipment.
  • Create or edit manufacturing drawings and/or solid models, electrical schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, and layouts for engineering projects.
  • Participate in the training of future new Drafting department employees as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience as a Mechanical CAD Designer.
  • Working experience with AutoCAD 2012 or later ProEngineer Creo Elements/Pro5.0 or later.
  • Able to effectively communicate written and verbally in the English language.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is a standard office setting with standard office equipment. The standard weekly job hours are 40 hours.
