Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Develop mechanical equipment with meticulous attention to detail, adhering to project schedules and specifications.
- Project Management: Collaborate with project managers on comprehensive submittal packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Problem-Solving: Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure project success, addressing technical issues in manufacturing, sourcing, and field installation.
- Travel: Travel occasionally to plant sites for measurements, installation support, and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
- Education: Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field of engineering with equivalent combination of experience.
- Experience: 3+ years in 3D modeling with SolidWorks (preferred), 3D designer or Certified SolidWorks Professional and experience 2D design and detailing with AutoCAD, strong knowledge of drafting standards for fabrication drawings, 3+ years designing mechanical equipment, weldments, and assemblies.
- Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, experience with power transmission equipment (motors, gearboxes, chain drives, shafts, bearings), proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, skilled in completing design calculations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fabrication Techniques: Proficiency in fabrication techniques such as bending, punching, welding, machining, and more.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the municipal water and wastewater sector is advantageous, background in material handling systems (conveyors and bulk storage) is beneficial, knowledge of electrical power, instrumentation, and controls is a strong asset.
