We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at PeopleShare Inc. as a key member of our product development team. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical equipment with meticulous attention to detail, adhering to project schedules and specifications to meet milestones.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on comprehensive submittal packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Create detailed fabrication-level drawings for manufacturing, utilizing SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Communicate effectively with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently, addressing technical issues in manufacturing, sourcing, and field installation.
  • Engage in shop fabrication, machining, and assembly processes, applying analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure project success.
  • Travel occasionally to plant sites for measurements, installation support, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to Product Teams to enhance products, leveraging expertise in 3D modeling and drafting standards.
Requirements
  • 3+ years in 3D modeling with SolidWorks (preferred)
  • 3D designer or Certified SolidWorks Professional and experience 2D design and detailing with AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of drafting standards for fabrication drawings
  • 3+ years designing mechanical equipment, weldments, and assemblies
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with power transmission equipment (motors, gearboxes, chain drives, shafts, bearings)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Skilled in completing design calculations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in fabrication techniques such as bending, punching, welding, machining, and more
  • Familiarity with the municipal water and wastewater sector is advantageous
  • Background in material handling systems (conveyors and bulk storage) is beneficial
  • Knowledge of electrical power, instrumentation, and controls is a strong asset
