Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at PeopleShare Inc. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical equipment with meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement design solutions for mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with project schedules and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers to create comprehensive submittal packages and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Design and create detailed fabrication-level drawings for manufacturing, utilizing SolidWorks and other relevant software.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Address technical issues in manufacturing, sourcing, and field installation, applying analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure project success.
  • Engage in shop fabrication, machining, and assembly processes, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Travel occasionally to plant sites for measurements, installation support, and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in 3D modeling with SolidWorks (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of drafting standards for fabrication drawings.
  • 3+ years of designing mechanical equipment, weldments, and assemblies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with power transmission equipment (motors, gearboxes, chain drives, shafts, bearings).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Skilled in completing design calculations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in fabrication techniques such as bending, punching, welding, machining, and more.
  • Familiarity with the municipal water and wastewater sector is advantageous.
  • Background in material handling systems (conveyors and bulk storage) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of electrical power, instrumentation, and controls is a strong asset.

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field of engineering with equivalent combination of experience.
