About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Media Sales Professional to join our team at The E.W. Scripps Company in Phoenix, Arizona. As an Account Executive, you will play a key role in helping local businesses achieve their growth objectives through effective advertising solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sell and implement advertising solutions to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies.
  • Analyze customer needs and develop customized advertising strategies to maximize return on investment.
  • Facilitate the use of digital marketing options, including Over The Top (OTT) video, search strategies, social media, and email targeting.
  • Prospect, secure appointments, and close sales to develop and maintain new business from traditional and non-traditional advertisers.
  • Negotiate program ratings and advertising rates with advertising agencies to maximize revenue.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, grow accounts, and gain additional business through referrals.
  • Manage a sales funnel using CRM systems, monitoring and achieving key performance indicators and expected activity levels.
  • Contribute to the creative development of campaigns through client communication and needs analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, including entertaining prospective and existing clients.
  • Perform routine administrative functions, including makegood resolution and CRM system updates.
Requirements
  • BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2+ years of proven sales success, preferably in strategic account management, broadcast ratings, and digital execution.
  • Strong influencing, selling, and upselling skills, as well as effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent analysis and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate needs and research data into sound marketing proposals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with outstanding presentation abilities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Office.
  • A valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company's required insurance limits.
