About the Role:

The Center for Energy and Environment is seeking a skilled Energy Auditor to join our team. As an Energy Auditor, you will play a critical role in providing in-home residential energy analysis in support of our Residential Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct home visits according to established protocols, working closely with a team member to ensure a seamless experience for our clients.
  • Manage time effectively to complete visits according to schedule, ensuring timely completion of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Assume the role of Lead or Installer for HES Energy Saver visits, providing leadership and guidance to team members as needed.
  • Conduct product installations, including LED light bulbs, energy-efficient shower heads, weatherstripping, and thermostats, for HES and multifamily visits.
  • Perform blower door and combustion safety tests, inspecting insulation levels in walls and attics, and preparing an accurate quote for insulation/air sealing treatments.
  • Communicate with the Energy Counselor throughout visits, providing recommendations for upgrades and ensuring a smooth experience for our clients.
  • Review and send completed Energy Fitness Plans with customers while in their residence, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their energy efficiency needs.
  • Accurately record and enter data into the tracking database, managing product inventory and ensuring seamless operations.
  • Drive a Home Energy Squad van, safely transporting equipment and personnel to and from job sites.
  • Occasional overnight trips to greater Minnesota, providing energy efficiency services to clients in need.
  • Conduct research and complete assigned tasks and responsibilities during office time, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
  • Assist with program marketing and outreach efforts, helping to promote our energy efficiency services to the community.
  • Understand and adhere to corporate policies and procedures, attending trainings as requested and staying informed about company-wide initiatives.
  • Cross-trained in Energy Counselor position or ability to be cross-trained in a timely manner, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of our energy efficiency services.
  • Ongoing participation in our Energy Counselor and Energy Auditor training program, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Possess solid knowledge of and demonstrated experience in building science, residential energy efficiency, and residential building construction.
  • Possess Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification or ability to work with CEE to obtain certification.
  • Preferred experience with infrared camera assessment and estimating or installing insulation.
  • Exhibit strong customer relations skills, effectively engaging with clients and providing exceptional service.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and concise communication with clients and team members.
  • Showcase exceptional time-management and organizational skills, meeting deadlines and ensuring seamless operations.
  • Possess basic computer and keyboard competency, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks like carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Be willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions, providing energy efficiency services to clients in a variety of settings.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record, with the ability to occasionally travel overnight to conferences and out-of-state work trips.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, providing an added level of service to our diverse client base.
