About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our team of skilled engineers and technicians supporting all aspects of our contract manufacturing business.

  • The ideal candidate will have a solid Electrical Engineering background with broad experience in general electronics and PCB manufacturing.
  • They will act as liaison between internal departments, customers, and suppliers, from initial inquiries to field issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities

Reporting Structure: The Engineering Manager will report directly to the President of the company.

Main Objectives:

  • Act as the principal resource for internal technical inquiries from all areas of the company.
  • Provide guidance to customer Engineering teams to make their designs more manufacturable and testable.
  • Lead direct failure mode analyses and root cause investigations and document findings in clear reports.
  • Clearly present results of technical investigations to customer Engineering, Quality, and Management teams.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and hands-on coaching to internal staff of engineers and technicians.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of experience in analog/digital design including embedded systems and firmware development using appropriate development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading technical teams, preferably in a production environment.
  • Experience in direct customer interfacing and explaining complex technical issues to less-technical team members.
Desirable Skills and Experience

Custom Automation Systems: Experience in developing custom automation systems for production environments is desirable.

Failure Mode Effects Analysis: Experience leading Failure Mode Effects Analyses, DFM/DFT reviews, Root Cause Analyses, and Robotic Safety Analyses is highly valued.

Certification Agencies: Experience working with certification agencies such as UL and CSA is beneficial.

PB Layout and Fabrication: Knowledge of PCB layout and fabrication processes is an asset.
