Job Title: Electrical Engineering Team Lead
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our team of skilled engineers and technicians in supporting all aspects of our contract manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will have a solid Electrical Engineering background with broad experience in general electronics and PCB manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal resource for internal technical inquiries from all areas of the company, including Sales, Customer Service, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Executive Teams.
- Lead technical interface for customer inquiries, performing/leading investigations to diagnose issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Conduct direct failure mode analyses and root cause investigations, documenting findings in clear reports.
- Provide guidance to customer Engineering teams to make designs more manufacturable and testable.
- Present results of technical investigations to customer Engineering, Quality, and Management teams.
- Lead, mentor, and coach internal staff of engineers and technicians.
- Coordinate and direct development projects, from initial needs identification to production incorporation.
- Oversee design for manufacturability reviews with internal or external customers.
- Participate in company continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure test equipment and custom automation systems meet production needs.
- Work closely with Production leadership to coordinate support activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8-10 years of experience in analog/digital design, embedded systems, and firmware development.
- Demonstrated experience in building and leading technical teams, preferably in a production environment.
- Experience in direct customer interfacing.
- Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that less-technical team members can understand.
Additional Desired Experience:
- Experience in custom automation systems for production environments.
- Experience leading Failure Mode Effects Analyses, DFM/DFT reviews, Root Cause Analyses, and Robotic Safety Analyses.
- Experience working with certification agencies such as UL and CSA.
- Experience in PCB layout and fabrication.
Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
