About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical services team, you will provide behavioral analytic services to clients in our adult service programs and outpatient clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral services to children and adults in our outpatient clinic and/or adult day program.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and participate in formal supervision bi-weekly.
  • Complete monthly billing accurately and efficiently, with a minimum goal of 120 hours per month.
  • Develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans that include preventative, reactive, and functionally equivalent replacement behaviors.
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments to identify maintaining variables for maladaptive behaviors.
  • Update Behavior Intervention Plans at least annually and conduct data analysis every three months.
  • Remain calm during times of crisis and provide support and guidance to clients and team members as needed.
  • Choose relevant data collection methods and train staff to accurately record data.
  • Help develop annual goals based on individual client skill assessments.
  • Meet quality and compliance requirements as set forth by Helping Hand, DHS, IDPH, CARF, and other pertinent regulations.
Requirements
  • Graduate degree from an accredited University with coursework in behavior analysis.
  • Currently certified as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by the BACB or able to pass the examination within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience working with children or adults with developmental disabilities required.
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or Mental Health Diagnoses preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as a behavior analyst.
Work Environment

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about to assist clients, access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The ability to observe details at a close range is required. Consistent positioning is necessary to maintain files in file cabinets or assist clients/students. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand is essential. The person in this position may encounter clients exhibiting physical aggression; must be comfortable working in periods of crisis and feel comfortable de-escalating individually or as part of a team.
