Job Description

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Oversee projects, systems, and issues of varied complexity related to IT systems planning, configuration, and optimization.
  • Infrastructure Planning: Engage in infrastructure planning, architecture design, and engineering to ensure seamless integration with our business operations.
  • Server Administration: Administer Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Virtualization: Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, ESXi, and vSphere to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
  • Cloud Computing: Deploy and manage workloads in the Azure cloud to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Network Security: Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco and Fortinet network systems to ensure robust security and compliance.
  • Ticket Management: Manage escalation tickets for infrastructure-related issues, including system outages, to ensure prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation as required to ensure knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership across all functional business areas to identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Cyber Security: Support, implement, and stay current with Cyber Security best practices and systems to ensure the security and integrity of our IT infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Windows system administration using PowerShell (AD, DNS, WSUS, SCCM, group policy, Intune, ATP).
  • Cloud Computing: Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure offerings.
  • Network Security: Experience with enterprise-class firewalls from Cisco and Fortinet.
  • Network Design: Strong understanding of network design and protocols.
  • Virtualization: Expertise in VMware-based virtualization platforms.
  • Scripting: Proficient in scripting using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Communication: Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly learn new technologies.
