The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual with strong organizational and communication abilities. Experience in sales within the plastic welding or industrial machinery sectors is advantageous. A proven track record of commitment and initiative is essential. The candidate should possess a willingness to learn, a robust work ethic, and be a collaborative team member with excellent communication, writing, and phone skills, along with the capability to cultivate a broad network of industry professionals. A background in technical, mechanical, or engineering fields is preferred. Integrity is a non-negotiable requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outside sales activities, including the pursuit of new business through various channels such as phone, internet, and face-to-face meetings.
- Build and strengthen a network of industry contacts to drive additional business opportunities.
- Engage with clients to discuss the advantages of our equipment and machinery tailored to their specific needs.
- Actively participate in both informal and formal events, industry meetings, and committees, as well as trade shows and conferences to elevate the company’s visibility in the market.
- Prepare quotations, establish pricing structures, and manage the sales process from initiation to completion.
- Create and disseminate marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, and email campaigns.
- Gain expertise in technical products to effectively demonstrate, support, and train customers and colleagues on the proper use of equipment. Utilize resources from vendors, industry contacts, or continuing education to become proficient in welding, processing, and related issues of thermoplastic materials.
- Assist the technical service team with machinery installations and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical sales or service/support role, with experience in the thermoplastic welding industry being a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and focused, with a strong follow-through approach.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster and maintain relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM software and other marketing tools is required.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within North America, with occasional international travel as necessary.
- Self-disciplined with strong time management skills and a results-driven mindset.
- A collaborative team player, open to cross-training and working with all departments.
- Fluency in written and spoken German or French is an asset.
