- Answer Phones and Respond to Messages: Answer phones in a pleasant manner, accommodate customers' needs, and record messages for physicians and nurses.
- Schedule Appointments: Schedule radiology and/or procedures, as directed, and prepare appointment schedules for physicians.
- Request Medical Records: Request historical medical records from referring providers or primary care physicians as needed for treatment of patients.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records: Effectively use the current operating system for Electronic Medical Records, including appointment management and scheduling.
- Maintain Office Supplies: Maintain an adequate level of office supplies.
- Address Patient Questions: Address questions regarding patient appointments.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA laws and regulations.
- Manage Daily Tasks: Manage daily tasks and clinical inbox.
- Schedule Appointments in EMR: Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments for patients in EMR.
- Respond to Referrals and Voicemails: Answer and respond to referrals and voicemails, verifying insurance and obtaining referrals.
- Perform Related Duties: Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of one (1) year of customer service, medical office, or related experience and/or training are required. Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications, general administrative and clerical procedures, and working knowledge of healthcare insurance are preferred. BLS certification is also preferred.
