Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This position is responsible for leading the maintenance department, coordinating activities, and working under the direction of the Director and/or Assistant Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, and controls activities of the maintenance department to maintain facilities, repair, and renovate as needed.
  • Maintains the flow and quality of work to ensure timely completion of assigned workload and adherence to standards of quality control.
  • Manages inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies, and initiates requisitions as needed.
  • In the absence of the Director and Assistant Director, assumes full responsibilities of the department and shares weekend duties with other managers.
  • Monitors and inspects employee work performance to ensure performance standards are maintained through the use of computer reports.
  • Orients and trains new employees and provides continuing guidance and on-the-job training to all assigned personnel.
  • Prepares performance evaluations for assigned personnel.
  • Coordinates preventative maintenance and building and property repair and improvement projects performed by vendors and contractors.
  • Serves as a member of the facility's fire response team.
Requirements
  • Previous supervisory experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Knowledgeable in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
  • Previous experience with computerized work order systems is highly preferred.
  • Ability to meet the needs of the facility and make sound decisions, sometimes under stress.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
