Position Summary
The Cell Component Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is integral to the Supplier Quality Management (SQM) division, tasked with overseeing all incoming materials related to cell components, including Cap-Ass'y, Can, Seal pin, and more.

This role demands adherence to supplier quality standards to fulfill all product and process specifications while managing and reporting on supplier performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities
The QA Specialist will:

  • Conduct quality inspections and manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new suppliers.
  • Perform ongoing process audits for all suppliers.
  • Identify, contain, and resolve supplier-related issues through root cause analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize supplier performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship in the application of world-class problem-solving techniques.

Additional Duties
Other responsibilities include:

  • Establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for QA activities and monitoring them continuously.
  • Leading Quality Process Audits (QPA) and the PPAP for new suppliers.
  • Documenting internal audits and quality assurance activities.
  • Investigating customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
  • Reviewing supplier product specifications and inspection standards.
  • Preparing updates on Supplier Quality performance and activities.
  • Providing regular management updates.
  • Collaborating closely with key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Managing multiple priorities and achieving internal and external results punctually.
  • Clarifying business and technical requirements for Supplier Quality performance with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time, including international travel.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and controls, with a strong foundation in supplier quality management.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of interfacing with employees at all levels, from hourly staff to senior leadership.
  • Ability to foster effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Goal-oriented self-starter with leadership experience.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring SQA Engineers and IQC Inspectors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Availability for overtime as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean.
  • Master's degree in relevant engineering fields.
  • Experience with continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Shainin Red X or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Familiarity with AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, and SPC.
  • Knowledge of quality certification systems such as ISO9001/IATF16949.
  • Understanding of World Class Manufacturing principles.
  • Proficient in Data Analytics using MS Excel, MS Access, or similar database applications.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite software.
  • ASQ Certification in Quality and Reliability.
