Job Summary:

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming shipments of goods. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that the organization's inventory remains well-stocked and that all incoming products meet quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments of groceries, produce, and other merchandise.
  • Inspect items for accuracy, quality, and any damages.
  • Verify the quantity and quality of products received against purchase orders.
  • Report discrepancies and damages to the appropriate department.
  • Manage PO, invoice, and receiving systems.
  • Coordinate with buyer on all incoming orders and receiving.
  • Accurately record received products into the inventory system.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by conducting regular cycle counts.
  • Organize and store received items in designated locations.
  • Create barcodes of new items and do regular audits of products.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to resolve discrepancies and issues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory matters.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
  • Dispose of packaging materials and debris appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Strong computer and administration skills.
  • Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform accurate data entry.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
