Position Summary:

The Parts Inventory Specialist will oversee all components related to conveyors, sorters, machinery, and maintenance supplies within a centralized inventory area. This role involves monitoring stock levels through an inventory management system and collaborating with Central Purchasing to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a crucial role in developing a new parts storage concept with an inventory of up to 5,000 items.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and daily audits to ensure precise inventory records, adjusting as necessary to meet established minimum and maximum thresholds.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders via various communication methods to identify required parts and provide effective solutions.
  • Reference computerized manuals, manufacturer catalogs, and stock records to ascertain inventory limits.
  • Collaborate closely with Central Purchasing to source parts in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Develop strategies to enhance inventory control processes.
  • Process requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, and transfers in accordance with established protocols.
  • Complete necessary documentation for supply accounting and reconcile any discrepancies in receiving.

Additional Duties:

Coordinate and communicate with warehouse staff as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in parts management, particularly with components related to conveyors, sorters, HVAC systems, compressors, and cleaning supplies.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Hytrol, FMH, Century, and Crown (WAV) to assist mechanics in accurate parts distribution.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in parts distribution software and inventory management tools.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with CMMS software like Fiix or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; technical trade education preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in parts management or mechanical roles within a large distribution setting.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a warehouse setting, which may involve extended periods of standing in varying temperature conditions.
