Job Description

Mendon Truck Leasing and Rental, a leading provider of leasing and rental services, is seeking a skilled Parts Specialist to oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of parts, supplies, and equipment essential for the timely support of trucks, vans, and equipment.

This role is responsible for procuring, receiving, stocking, and issuing parts and equipment for specialized motorized equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diversified vehicle parts supply and inventory control, including fleet maintenance technical or mechanical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Branch Manager to ensure the branch is supplied with applicable parts, providing a profitable parts department.
  • Monitor the movement of stocked parts, new vehicles and equipment entering the fleet, and vehicles and equipment leaving the fleet.
  • Maintain ongoing computerized inventory records, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct physical inventory of all stock parts and supplies, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Oversee ordering and maintenance of stock and non-stock parts through outside vendors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Verify the delivery of parts and supplies against invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Build relationships with vendors and branches to facilitate a productive operation.
  • Solicit quotes from vendors and document, ensuring competitive pricing and efficient procurement.
  • Arrange outside labor services for outsourced work, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Submit warranty claims for trucks and equipment still under the original equipment warranty, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities in the department, driving business growth and improvement.
  • Maintain a safe environment by upholding all safety standards and procedures, ensuring a healthy and secure work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, supporting the team and driving business success.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification.
  • Experience working with diversified vehicle parts supply and inventory control, including fleet maintenance technical or mechanical experience.
  • A valid Driver's License (preferred).
  • Knowledge of vehicle parts, including components and materials.
  • Thorough knowledge of receipt, storage, and issuance of materials and equipment, as well as supply and inventory operations procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of computerized inventory record keeping, including basic electronic data processing and cost accounting techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and ability to make mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to evaluate the merits of competitive products and apply supply and inventory management procedures effectively.
  • Ability to plan and maintain the supply of components and materials to ensure timely and effective support of maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain accurate and legible inventory and stock records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Results-driven and customer-focused mindset, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and drive business success.
