About the Chief Technology Officer Role

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for spearheading the design and implementation of innovative technology systems and tools that align with Feminist's mission. This role requires close collaboration with the Chief Information Officer to evaluate and enhance existing systems, processes, and tools.

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Executive Director

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership regarding technology architecture, focusing on scalability and organizational growth;
  2. Oversee the design and development of advanced technology systems and tools to enhance organizational capabilities;
  3. Implement technological solutions, applications, and integrations that optimize workflows across the organization, including third-party API integrations;
  4. Conduct Research & Development to continuously explore and adopt new technologies that benefit the organization;
  5. Establish strategic alliances with technology vendors and industry leaders to foster innovation;
  6. Assess new technologies for compatibility and integration with existing systems;
  7. Align technology initiatives with organizational goals and priorities;
  8. Make recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, and performance management of technology staff;
  9. Provide hands-on support for ongoing technology projects;
  10. Manage relationships with consultants and vendors to ensure project timelines are met efficiently;
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  1. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in technology architecture, design, development, and team leadership;
  2. Extensive knowledge of computer systems, networking, databases, and software algorithms;
  3. Experience in managing technology procurement processes, including reviewing statements of work and proposals;
  4. Proficiency in programming languages with the ability to read and write code;
  5. Strong strategic planning and goal-setting skills that yield measurable outcomes;
  6. Proven experience in dynamic and complex work environments, both onsite and remotely;
  7. Ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative in problem-solving;
  8. Excellent research and analytical capabilities;
  9. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail;
  10. Capacity to maintain a high level of discretion;
  11. Ability to estimate and evaluate technical solutions;
  12. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

Position Details:

  • Full-time role
  • Exempt from FLSA classification

The salary range for this position is competitive and includes benefits such as medical insurance and a 401(k) plan with employer contributions.
