Position Responsibilities

This role is essential in driving store sales and profitability while managing expenses, ensuring optimal stock levels, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

The Supervisor plays a crucial role in nurturing the growth of both the management team and store associates.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales and Operations

  • Distribute daily tasks among team members to uphold merchandising and visual standards.
  • Recruit, train, and develop retail personnel with a focus on their growth and success, providing continuous performance feedback and recognition.
  • Analyze store evaluations with the management team to identify areas for improvement and address issues promptly.
  • Oversee staff supervision to ensure sales targets are met and company policies are adhered to.
  • Conduct performance evaluations in line with company standards to offer constructive feedback and identify growth opportunities.
  • Design and execute in-store marketing strategies, including promotions and seasonal displays tailored to store needs.
  • Implement merchandising updates in accordance with Ace standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors to devise merchandising strategies and assist with plan-o-gram updates.
  • Anticipate scheduling requirements to meet customer demand and create effective work schedules.
  • Monitor payroll to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Discuss staffing strengths and areas for improvement with HR/Ops Directors prior to hiring or terminations.

Customer Service

  • Champion Customer Service as the top priority, achieved through observing and coaching associates on the sales floor.
  • Regularly promote and exemplify the "Amaze Every Customer Every Time" philosophy while mentoring the team.
  • Utilize team meetings and communication tools to share store performance metrics and motivate the staff.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring all customers are acknowledged, their needs are met, and concerns are swiftly addressed.
  • Review customer service metrics and collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for enhancing service levels and store ambiance.
  • Document monthly observations for each associate and provide coaching to ensure consistent service delivery.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective management of receiving, transfers, and adherence to best practices.
  • Utilize inventory reports to minimize shrinkage, maintain optimal stock levels, and enhance inventory accuracy.

Coaching and Development

  • Engage in professional development through leadership training opportunities and industry events.
  • Identify and oversee training requirements for all associates, including new-hire orientation and vendor training.

Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols and serve as a role model for safety practices.
  • Ensure compliance with store environment standards to maintain an appealing store appearance.
  • Conduct safety inspections and take necessary actions to rectify any issues.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a retail environment.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead associates fairly and impartially.
  • High analytical skills with the ability to delegate and work independently.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management abilities.
  • Proficient in retail computer systems and related software.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships and strategic partnerships.
  • Adhere to company dress code policies.
  • Possess a valid in-state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands for this role include:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, reach, and bend as necessary.
  • Capability to lift and move merchandise up to 40 pounds and handle store fixtures.
