Job Overview

The Project Manager role at Peak Construction Corporation encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the successful execution of projects within the Cold Storage sector.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all project phases.
  • Provide mentorship, management, and training to team members.
  • Oversee complex Cold Storage projects or multiple smaller to mid-sized projects.
  • Inspire and educate subordinates effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality work within established timelines and budget constraints.
  • Facilitate collaboration among the Peak Team, Engineers, and Subcontractors.
  • Manage and monitor project budgets efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain the CPM Project schedule for all assignments.
  • Expedite subcontract purchasing and buyout processes to prevent cost increases and supply chain disruptions.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of technology and computer skills.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with all project stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager is primarily accountable for:

  • General Management
    • Ensuring project delivery aligns with client expectations and adheres to the project timeline and budget.
    • Maintaining open communication with the project team to ensure client satisfaction.
    • Managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
    • Participating in the broader management of the company, contributing to corporate initiatives and executive meetings.
    • Engaging with potential clients and actively pursuing new business opportunities.
    • Conducting performance evaluations for project managers, superintendents, and project engineers.
    • Creating opportunities to deepen client relationships through various engagements.
  • Budget Management
    • Involvement in the pre-construction phase to establish project budgets.
    • Collaborating with the project team to define internal costs and budgets.
    • Taking ownership of project budgets and ensuring timely bidding and awarding of trade work.
    • Proactively managing project costs against the budget and providing accurate projections for monthly reviews.
    • Facilitating the creation and execution of subcontract agreements in line with project schedules.
    • Completing project closeouts efficiently to avoid delays.
  • Schedule Management
    • Sharing responsibility for meeting contractual schedule requirements.
    • Participating in the development and regular updates of the Master Project Schedule.
    • Collaborating with the project team to ensure timely procurement of resources.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Responding promptly to all project-related communications.
  • Adopting a proactive management approach.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  8. Education: Minimum 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in a construction-related field.
  9. Experience:
    1. At least 3 years of experience in Cold Storage projects with knowledge of various refrigeration systems.
    2. A minimum of 10 years in project management overall.
