Senior Civil Engineering Manager

Leidos is in search of a Senior Civil Engineering Manager to contribute to the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) program, providing essential support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Travel requirements are approximately 25%, with an additional 25% of the role involving telework.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee a team of skilled professionals dedicated to ensuring that all tasks are executed efficiently and within established timelines and budgetary limits.
- Directly supervise team members, including responsibilities for hiring, promotions, and terminations.
- Manage timecard submissions and provide guidance to the assigned personnel.
- Maintain regular communication with management, FAA representatives, and other contractors.
- Oversee project planning, establish timelines, and prepare cost estimates.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic team setting.
- Ensure that electronic project documentation is organized and up-to-date, particularly concerning site preparation and equipment installation challenges.
- Collaborate across various engineering disciplines on projects.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations regarding construction-related issues.
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats, ensuring well-structured documentation.
- Engage with stakeholders, contractors, and relevant authorities on project-related matters.
- Propose enhancements to operational efficiency.
- Assist in the development, review, and revision of program-related documents.
- Manage the program's KSN site, including its operation, maintenance, and enhancements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to implement Operational Risk Management, including the creation and submission of Project Risk Plans.
- Monitor project construction, ensuring alignment with Operational Risk Management Plan activities.
A degree in Civil Engineering from a 4-year ABET-accredited institution, with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 10 years of experience.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing multiple personnel and projects.
- Relevant expertise in designing shelter replacements, road enhancements, roofing upgrades, facility structural improvements, and modernization efforts.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering scheduling tools.
- Familiarity with AUTOCAD and MICROSTATION.
- Ability to supervise a team of civil engineers and safety personnel.
- Capability to assess construction projects for safety compliance.
- Physical ability to lift 20 lbs. and perform demanding tasks.
- Exceptional communication skills for addressing technical inquiries and delivering program presentations.
Experience working with the FAA is highly desirable, along with prior interactions with U.S. government managers, employees, and programs.
