Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Supervisor to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) program, you will provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and lead a team of experienced professionals in delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Provide supervision and guidance to a team of experienced professionals, ensuring work is performed properly and within the prescribed time and budget constraints.
  • Project Management: Direct supervision of personnel, including hiring, promotion, and termination authority, in conjunction with senior manager review and approval.
  • Time Management: Manage timecards and provide guidance for assigned staff.
  • Communication: Maintain frequent interface and communication with manager, FAA personnel, and other contractor personnel.
  • Project Planning: Contribute to the development of project plans, establish project schedules, and project estimates.
  • Task Management: Manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines through to completion in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance and recommendations regarding the closure of construction-related punch-list items.
  • Documentation: Effectively communicate in written and verbal form, providing well-organized documentation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Discuss project-related items with stakeholders, contractors, and code-related Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Process Improvement: Suggest ways to further improve the efficiency of the UIS Program's operations.
  • Document Creation: Assist in the creation, review, and revisions of documents owned and/or managed by the UIS Program.
  • System Maintenance: Develop, administer, operate, maintain, repair, modify, and enhance the UIS Program's KSN site in accordance with a prioritized activity list provided and periodically updated by the GTI.
  • Risk Management: Coordinate with stakeholders to implement Operational Risk Management, including development and submission of Project Risk Plans in the CWP.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor the construction of UIS projects, including coordination with stakeholders to refine Operational Risk Management Plan (ORMP) activities.
  • Long-Range Radar Projects: Monitor the construction of Long-Range Radar (LRR) projects, including coordination with stakeholders to refine Operational Risk Management Plan (ORMP) activities.
Requirements
  • Civil Engineering Degree: Civil Engineering degree from a 4-year ABET-accredited College/University with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: Prior supervisory experience with multiple personnel and projects.
  • Relevant Experience: Relevant experience should include experience designing shelter replacements, road improvements, roofing replacements, facility structural improvements, and facility modernization.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, as well as be able to use the Internet as an information gathering and communications tool.
  • Proficiency: Proficiency with AUTOCAD / MICROSTATION.
  • Physical Demands: Must be capable of lifting 20 lbs. and completing physically demanding tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to be used in responding to technical questions and performing program presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous FAA Experience: Previous work experience for/with the FAA is highly preferred.
  • US Government Experience: Prior work experience with US government managers, employees, and programs.
