Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Counsel, R&D Business Development to join our team at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited. As a key member of our R&D Legal function, you will play a critical role in supporting senior attorneys on business development transactions and leading selected licensing and other business development transactions for our R&D function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the R&D Legal function by supporting senior attorneys on business development transactions.
  • Lead selected licensing and other business development transactions for Takeda's R&D function.
  • Develop and apply analytical skills to assist with the completion of complex transactions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in multiple geographies and functions with strong emphasis on ethics, diversity and inclusion and the Takeda patient-centric focus.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-7 years of experience preferred in a law firm or pharmaceutical or biotechnology legal department working with contracts in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating and advising on a variety of agreement types.
  • Self-motivated, solid business acumen, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Sound conflict resolution skills and ability to work in a collaborative, global environment.
  • J.D.
  • Active membership and in good standing in a state bar.
