Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Soliant. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality educational services to students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Design and implement tailored IEPs that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring they receive the support and accommodations necessary to succeed academically and personally.

Create a Supportive and Inclusive Learning Environment

Establish a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and social-emotional growth.

Provide Differentiated Instruction and Adapt Teaching Strategies

Employ a range of instructional techniques, materials, and resources to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying learning styles, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.

Assess and Monitor Student Progress

Regularly assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust instructional strategies to ensure students meet their academic and personal goals.

Collaborate with Colleagues and Parents

Work closely with other teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure effective communication, coordination of services, and a unified approach to supporting students with special needs.

Utilize Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment

Integrate assistive technology and adaptive equipment to facilitate student participation, independence, and access to learning materials.

Monitor and Address Social-Emotional Development

Regularly monitor and address students' social-emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills to ensure they develop essential life skills and a positive self-image.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Special Education

A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Valid Teaching Certificate or Credential

A valid teaching certificate or credential in Special Education is required.

Familiarity with IEPs and Accommodations

Experience with developing and implementing IEPs, as well as providing accommodations and modifications to support students with special needs.

Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
