Job Summary:

The Sales and Marketing Representative is responsible for growing market share in designated markets. This role involves satisfying customer needs and meeting management objectives. The ideal candidate will maintain and grow a customer base by penetrating existing accounts and opening new accounts. A close working relationship with customers and all internal company departments is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing customer relationships by visiting weekly, providing marketing materials, menu ideas, and market updates.
  • Prospect and open new accounts to meet company objectives and customer management plan (CMP) goals.
  • Develop and maintain pricing and order guides.
  • Collect past due balances from customers.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the customer service department and operational teams.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales, chef/restaurant management experience, or related degree (Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, or Culinary Arts).
  • 1 year of outside foodservice sales experience preferred.
  • Restaurant management/chef experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, and some knowledge of Salesforce a plus.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse distribution a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Decision Making Authority:

  • Profitability of a customer.
  • Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors.
  • Customer credits and pricing.
