About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead new product development within our Electronic Warfare Mechanical Design Hardware Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, verifying, and producing digital processor and RF receiver subsystems for airborne platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers, ensuring the successful development of mechanical designs and hardware.
  • Design and Development: Design and develop mechanical systems, including RF systems, for challenging thermal and high vibration environments.
  • Program Management: Lead programs as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), ensuring program success along technical, cost, and schedule parameters.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interface and communicate with customers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure effective collaboration and project success.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience: 8 years of experience in mechanical design, development, and/or implementation of defense-related electronic systems, or 5 years with an advanced degree
  • Skills: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ASME drawing and documentation standards, solid modeling, and Pro/Engineer/CREO or similar modeling tools
  • Clearance: Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Broad-Based Mechanical Engineering Experience: Experience spanning the entire product development lifecycle, including requirements allocation, detailed design, packaging, manufacturing support, hardware integration, environmental testing, and delivery of hardware
  • EW/Radar Systems or RF Products Experience: Experience with electronic warfare, radar systems, or RF products, including design, development, and testing
  • Conformal Antenna Array Packaging Experience: Experience with conformal antenna array packaging, including design, development, and testing
  • Leadership Experience: Experience leading technical teams, including Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) or Mechanical/Hardware Lead

We offer a competitive salary range of $105,000 - $221,000, depending on experience.
