Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the development of cutting-edge products within our Electronic Warfare Mechanical Design Hardware Department. This team is dedicated to the design, integration, verification, and production of advanced digital processor and RF receiver subsystems tailored for airborne applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a pivotal technical contributor to various programs and products, focusing on the design of RF systems capable of withstanding extreme thermal and vibrational conditions.
  • Assume leadership roles as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), acting as a liaison to ensure program success in terms of technical performance, budget, and timelines, while mentoring junior engineers.
  • Utilize your expertise in electronics packaging design and manufacturing, covering aspects such as thermal and structural analysis, electrical component design, and environmental testing methodologies.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to your team, fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Engage in technical presentations and cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities as a proactive self-starter, demonstrating excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Mechanical Design, Development, or Implementation of defense-related electronic systems, or 5 years with an advanced degree.
  • Proven experience in root cause analysis and the development of effective corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME drawing standards.
  • Proficiency in solid modeling, with at least three years of experience using Pro/Engineer/CREO or similar tools.
  • Possession of an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive mechanical engineering experience throughout the product development lifecycle, including requirements allocation, detailed design, and hardware integration.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) or Radar Systems, as well as RF products.
  • Background in managing project budgets and schedules using Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Prior experience leading technical teams and conducting design reviews.
  • Expertise in electronics packaging, cabling, and printed wiring board design.
  • Experience in structural and thermal analysis utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques.
