About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Firmware Design Engineer to join our team at Raytheon, a leading provider of advanced defense solutions. As a key member of our Electronic Warfare (EW) team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge firmware solutions for our EW products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements analysis and decomposition for firmware design
  • Sub-system design, modeling, simulation, and design verification test
  • Collaboration with experienced engineers to develop and integrate firmware solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in digital signal processing, firmware design, and electronic warfare systems
  • Experience with Intel and/or Xilinx tools, digital hardware design, and firmware integration
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience with AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or Microsemi FPGAs
  • Experience with high-level modeling tools and languages such as SystemVerilog or SystemC
  • Experience with analytical tools such as Questa Firmware Simulation
  • Experience with code coverage tools for evaluating test coverage

Clearance Information

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
